The death of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police on Memorial Day 2020 set off more than a week of protests, riots and general unrest that saw the destruction of more than 1,000 buildings and whole city blocks. As the city burned and protest raged day after day, Minneapolis native and IABC Minnesota member Paul Omodt put together a group of veteran crisis communicators to assist state and local officials in setting communications strategy and tactics.

Learn how this group inserted itself into the State’s command structure and how they provided the skills and guidance to start reclaiming the peace Minneapolis so desperately needed.
